The Sûreté du Québec (SQ) of the City of Shawinigan arrested Alexandre Hallée-Lefebvre on May 3 in relation to offenses committed against teenage girls.

The police were able to nab him thanks to the vigilance of a citizen who found the suspect’s vehicle suspicious.

The 33-year-old man, from Saint-Chrysostome, would have come into contact with teenage girls from Mauricie aged under 16 between October 2023 and May 2024, indicates the SQ in a press release.

The suspect allegedly communicated with his victims via social networks. After discussions via text and voice messages during which he complimented the young girls with messages of love, he traveled to Mauricie to meet them in person.

Since several victims have been identified, the management structure for serial crime investigations (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec, has been deployed.

He appeared at the Shawinigan courthouse and is accused of luring. He was released on conditions pending further proceedings.
