Rue Albert-Ier, the protected geographical indication of Cévennes wines opened its bodega at 11 a.m. this Thursday. With, for an aperitif, the former president of the cooperative cellars of France and current president of the Cooperative Wine Institute, Denis Verdier.
11:30 a.m., abrivado competition launched on avenue Carnot
Near the recently burned building on Place Gabriel-Péri, the number of places was reduced to attend the abrivado competition, in the rising heat. A moment rich in emotions for participants and spectators.
11 a.m., the Provençal parade to the rhythm of the manadiers’ clogs
In the company of municipal representatives, traditional Provençal groups and Clara Crouzette, elected Miss Alès 2024, accompanied by her first runners-up Sahra Zoubaï and Angelyne Bres, the Provençal mass parade led the manadiers and spectators to the abrivados competition which takes place at 11:30 a.m.
9 a.m., nearly 500 people at the Provençal mass
In true spring weather, around 500 people took communion in the green theater of the Bosquet garden for the traditional Povençal mass on Ascension Day. A mass pronounced by the Bishop of Nîmes, Nicolas Brouwet, in the presence of the Beaucair association Soie et velvet d’Argence, the mayor, Max Roustan, his first deputy, Christophe Rivenq, the deputy for the 4th constituency, Pierre Meurin , kneeling during the consecration, and Miss Alès and her two dauphines.
