The CRHA Fellow Distinction recognizes the contribution and involvement of an individual to the growth and influence of the profession through their leadership, reputation, skills and achievements.

Chantal Lamoureux is indeed recognized for “her remarkable leadership, her ability to bring together individuals from diverse backgrounds in order to stimulate personal and organizational development”, underlines the Institute in its press release published to announce the news.

While she has only been at the head of the Institute since November 2020 and despite the pandemic, Chantal Lamoureux has managed to take her place and already exerts a great influence on the profession of Pl. Fin.

She thus participated in the change of identity of the Institute, enabled it to acquire the Skills Guide for Fin. Pl., a tool which will shape the profession in the years to come, and weaved links with universities to try to encourage young people to enter the profession.

If she admits that her involvement with the Institute was surely one of the elements which earned her this recognition, Chantal Lamoureux emphasizes that it is certainly not the only thing which played a role in the balance.

“It’s certainly one of the elements that has been recognized. Basically, they recognize that I have an impact on an entire profession, but I think it’s the body of work too,” she says.

“I had the chance to participate in some great projects, such as the creation of the Bank of Montreal Academy in the 1990s,” explains the woman who also worked for the STM and Hydro-Québec, and who is also very involved with the community sector.

However, she remains humble. She says her successes are due to her ability to surround herself and consult the parties involved. “Working with people, I think that’s also my trademark. The problems are complex. You have to look at things from different points of view. That’s why, even at the Institute, in all the projects we do, I always take the time to talk to people from different perspectives, to fully understand, and take their opinions into consideration. »

“I often say that I work for and with people,” she concludes.
