More than 24 hours after the incident, still no news. During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, around 2 a.m., a man dressed in a hospital gown and wearing a cast on each of his legs, according to a police Source, fell into the Seine near the port de Javel, in the 15th arrondissement of Paris, not far from Parc André-Citroën.

According to this same Source, the man would have fallen “accidentally” without the intervention of any third person. Having been informed of the incident, the Paris fire brigade and the national police intervened and began a search thanks to the river brigade.

For now, the man remains missing and his identity unknown. The precise reasons for his fall also remain to be elucidated. An investigation has been opened.

Dispatched to the incident, the river brigade – or “Fuv” – pulls nearly 200 people out of the water each year. Most of the interventions take place during the summer.

On January 5, 2018, Amandine Giraud, a young 27-year-old peacekeeper who had just obtained her accreditation as a diver with the river brigade, drowned in the Seine during an exercise. After several years of investigation, two police officers, one a monitor and the other captain of the “Fuv”, one of the most prestigious French specialized brigades, were referred to the criminal court for “involuntary homicide” by a Parisian judge in April 2023.
