The 3rd edition of the Lalbenque cycling grand prix took place on Sunday May 5 with mild, almost unexpected weather. The Cahors cycling organizing team did things well with numerous rewards for the runners and the establishment of a mountain classification by category which did not fail to liven up the races.

In addition, this year, the Lalbenquoise event was a qualifier for the next Ufolep regional championship. In total, no less than 104 runners showed up at the start of the day’s two races with the presence of many Lotois runners from the clubs of Cahors, Bretenoux-Biars and Gourdon in particular.

The opening race reserved for young people, women, 4th and 3rd categories opened in the afternoon. Among the youngest, the junior Baptiste Fraud (Maurs) and the younger Arthur Barthie (Castelsarrasin) won as did Audrey Frezouls (Gaillac).

In 4th category, the experienced Jean-Louis Queille (Argentat) won the race. In 3rd category, Sylvain Vidal (Balma) crossed the line as winner ahead of Quentin Bourrières from the organizing club.

The second race pitted the 1st and 2nd categories against each other. In 2nd category, Briviste Yohan Surget won ahead of two riders from Cahors Cyclisme Clément Tranier and Anthony Salvan. In the 1st categories, Robin Duez (Castelmayran) gained the upper hand over Lionel Vermande and Jérôme Devez, both from Bretenoux-Biars.

After this great day of sport, the Cahors Cyclisme club congratulates the runners for the spectacle offered and also thanks its many volunteers and partners.
