The grazing festival is Saturday in Lugagnac

This Saturday, May 11, from 10:30 a.m. to midnight, the Crégols – Lugagnac Pastoral Land Association and the Caussignols breeders’ association are offering a rich and varied program around pastoralism.

In 2017, under the leadership of the Lot department and the municipalities of Crégols and Lugagnac, the AFP of Crégols – Lugagnac was created with the aim of mobilizing owners for the reconquest of bushy environments. With the help of the Causses du Quercy Regional Natural Park, forty owners became members of the AFP, 22 pasture parks were created and 230 hectares were made available to the Causignols association for grazing. After five years of use by breeders, the arrival of animals in these heavily brushed areas is already showing its positive effects: grazing has made it possible both to reduce the risk of fire by eliminating brush but also to provide additional protection. fodder for breeders and to restore open and welcoming natural environments for remarkable biodiversity.

It is to celebrate this collective work that the two associations, accompanied by the municipalities and the Park, wanted to organize a festive and educational day of sharing in the municipality of Lugagnac.
