It’s a beautiful agricultural festival which is being prepared in the territory of the commune of Mamirolle, not far from the service station. On September 6, 7 and 8, the Doubs department will vibrate to the rhythm of the “Jim’s Lands” event, the largest open-air agricultural festival in Europe. For three days, the agricultural world, and in particular the 600 members of the Young Farmers of Doubs, will mobilize to share their passion. A focus will be placed on the profession, its actors and the know-how in very fields.

For the occasion, the event, of international scope, will host the national, European and regional plowing finals, but also rich entertainment times, which will not fail to arouse the curiosity of the public. Because that is what is at stake in this event. From a technical point of view, more than 70 participants from 13 European countries will be present in the Doubs. The general public part will offer a show, thematic workshops and agricultural demonstrations. There will also be plant workshops, concerts, brass bands, bell ringers, biathlon initiations, ski jumping simulators, helicopter baptisms and a Moiss Batt cross. The Conifer, the little tourist train of Haut-Doubs, should also be part of the party.

Call for volunteers

The budget for this event, financed by numerous partners, amounts to one million euros. It required two years of preparation. To organize, run and organize the event, a call for volunteers is launched. Arms are eagerly awaited three weeks before the meeting, during the event and two weeks after the party. On September 6, 7 and 8, 600 people will be needed for it to run smoothly. Emmanuel Macron?

Nothing has been decided, but the young organizers hope to be able to count on a visit from Emmanuel Macron. In 2022, the President of the Republic traveled to Outarville, in Loiret, where a previous edition of “Terres de Jim” was held. Let us recall that a few days ago, the Head of State committed to building a “(agricultural) project for the future” for next fall. To be continued.
