French road championships organized at the beginning of May, we have never seen this in the history of cycling. But we know why: it’s the Paris Olympics that are shaking up the sporting calendar. These championships are those of the Future. They started this Wednesday, May 8, in Altkirch in Haut-Rhin, and will continue until Sunday.
The first day was devoted to time trials. Quentin Du Mouza (C’Chartres), Romuald Hervé and Côme Bouchet from UC Châteauroux, three from Tourange, took part in these times.
Paul Hélion (UV Descartes) and Zoë Du Mouza (US Saint-Pierre) take the stage this Thursday in the U17 boys and U15/U17 girls road races. These are the only two representatives of Indre-et-Loire clubs present in Alsace.
Friday will then see the mixed relay team time trial take place. Saturday, the U23 event will mark the return of Lucas Bénéteau to competition. We remember that the professional from Saint-Michel-Mavic-Auber93 suffered a broken collarbone on March 17 during the Cholet Agglo Tour. Quentin Du Mouza will also be at the start of this championship.
Finally, on Sunday, the U19 championships, boys and girls, will close this series of competitions in Altkirch. Hervé and Bouchet are also selected for this event.
