On a socio-economic level, Namur also occupies a special place. The average income flirts with 20,000 euros (compared to 14,000 to 16,000 in the other three). Unemployment is lower there (10.7%), as is the risk of poverty (15%). Disability is also lower than in Charleroi or Liège, but not only in Brussels, a younger municipality. There are fewer beneficiaries of social integration income in Namur.

Real estate prices are higher in Namur than in Liège or Charleroi. The median price of an apartment is 195,000 euros, significantly more than the median price of a house in Liège or Charleroi. The median price of a house in Namur is 280,000 euros.

In terms of crime, over the past legislature, we have seen a reduction in car thefts and burglaries in homes, and a stagnation in the number of armed robberies. A slight improvement in the security situation, therefore, at least in terms of quantifiable crimes. Because drug trafficking and the feeling of insecurity it generates have not diminished in recent years in Namur. Those who frequent the station area will not say otherwise.

The city center of Namur would not be attractive enough for 48% of Namur residents: “We did not expect such a figure”
