The new director of Senegalese radio and television (RTS), Pape Alé Niang, signs his first outing since his appointment to this position. The journalist and boss of Dakar matin performed his last live yesterday Tuesday, as a goodbye to his subscribers.

And far from limiting himself to these farewells, Mr. Niang still provided answers on what is and was said about him. “I will not respond to anyone. All the bad things that are said about me, I agree and forgive. No one can push me to respond. During the last 12 years (of Macky Sall’s reign), what have I not heard about me? I have always responded with silence So nothing can reach me today and I will continue to respond with silence,” he said.

And the new director of RTS continued, “people sent me messages to show me what people were saying about me. But I swear, I didn’t watch any videos and I didn’t know I intend to watch it. I forgive everyone.

These two messages are actually a sign of forgiveness. In other words, Pape Alé adopts a conciliatory posture with all his detractors.
