Frost advisories were issued on Sunday by Environment Canada for the night of Monday to Tuesday in certain sectors of Quebec.

“Frost advisories are issued when mercury is expected to reach freezing during the crop growing season and plants and crops are at risk of damage or destruction,” the federal agency says.

The sectors of Saint-Jérôme, Saint-Eustache, Rapides-des-Joachims, Papineauville-Chénéville, Low-Wakefield, Lachute, rivière du Lièvre and Fort William-Shawville.

After having experienced rather summer-like temperatures in recent weeks, Quebec should return to seasonal norms during the night of Monday to Tuesday.

A maximum of 18 degrees Celsius is still expected on Monday in greater Montreal, but should give way to a maximum of 14 degrees on Tuesday.

At night, temperatures should not exceed 6 degrees until Friday.

Near Quebec, a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius is forecast for Monday. The coldest day of the week is expected to be Thursday, with a high of 11 degrees Celsius, according to Environment Canada.
