Achieving an activity rate of 40% for S status beneficiaries by the end of the year: this is the objective set by the Federal Council (CF). However, at present, some 24% of the 65,000 affected, mainly Ukrainians, have found employment in Switzerland. To alleviate this situation, the Seven Wise Men therefore presented, on Wednesday, several measures to facilitate their access to the job market.

Berne intends in particular to place emphasis on registrations with regional employment offices (ORP). “Only a small portion of S status beneficiaries” are currently registered there, writes the CF. The various national and cantonal bodies in matters of asylum and employment will therefore have to “collaborate more closely” to encourage people able to work to register with an ORP. The recognition of refugees’ diplomas should also be facilitated. “Scalable pilot projects” have been developed to help them in the steps they are taking to this end.

Among the measures announced, the State Secretariat for Migration (SEM) and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO) also committed to strengthening their collaboration with the aim of integrating more Ukrainians into the labor market. work. In order to facilitate this rapprochement, the Federal Council has appointed a professional integration delegate. “Its mission will be to make the link between the administration and the economy, so as to convince companies to support the professional integration of S status beneficiaries,” explains Berne.

New proposals on the issue will be sent to the FC by the Federal Department of Justice and Police (FDJP) “by the fall”.
