For Nathalie Fittingsecretary of the association Sol’Seine and Loinga brand new solidarity grocery store created in September 2023 in the territory of Moret and its surroundings, the need is simple: “We need a utility vehicle of 8 to 10 m3, Renault Master type. This is the only element we are missing to begin our mission.”

“We recreate the tours of yesteryear”

Indeed, the association has found a premises which can accommodate its food stocks and the famous vehicle, but its operation is not traditional.

“We are in a rural area,” she continues. Not all beneficiaries necessarily have the means or the ability to travel to come to us. That is why we prioritize our mobility to meet them, in small villages and hamlets. Our goal is toto be itinerant over about twenty kilometers around Moret. Actually, we recreate the tours of yesteryearwhen traders passed through the villages.”

In addition to the role of grocery store, the association also wants recreate the linktake the time to discuss with the beneficiaries, remind them of the basics of nutrition, inform them about social rights, in short, be a Source of help and comfort.

“All we need is the vehicle to be able to start,” adds Nathalie Fitting. We are hoping for a donation, because association finances are not very flourishing. But if necessary, we will go through an operation crowdfundingeven if it will delay us, especially since the demands are more and more important.”

As for the municipalities concerned by this operation, they, as well as their CCAS, all responded favorably to this initiative, but do not have a vehicle available.

Call for volunteering

Another important need for the association: volunteers. The team is in fact made up of around fifteen members, but, in order to optimize shifts as best as possible, more people would necessarily be needed.
