It’s the end of a saga in Boudry. The Neuchâtel Addiction Foundation announced in a press release on Wednesday that it had signed a loan contract formalizing the presence of the “Les Hirondelles” collective on part of the Pontareuse estate, which it owns.

Six weeks of standoff

On March 23, Les Hirondelles illegally took possession of the premises of the Pontareuse estate. On April 8, the Addiction Neuchâtel Foundation issued its conditions regarding the presence of the collective to develop market gardening activities. These conditions having not been met by the set deadline, a criminal complaint was filed against the collective, which finally left the premises a week later.

Continuous exchanges

From then on, discussions took place between representatives of the Foundation and the collective. After three meetings and numerous discussions, the Addiction Neuchâtel Foundation notes that the required conditions have been met. From then on, the Neuchâtel Addiction Foundation decided to formalize the presence of the Association “Les Hirondelles et ses ami-exs” on the site, through a loan contract for use which concerns an apartment, the premises of the farm of the estate, as well as a meeting room.

Temporary solution

According to the press release, this loan contract extends, initially, until November 30, 2025. It is renewable from year to year, subject to 6 months’ notice in the event of termination. /comm-gjo
