The National Police Academy of (Haute-Garonne) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The sub-prefect of the district was present to blow out the 50 candles.

The Toulouse National Police Academy (ENPT) is celebrating a prestigious anniversary this year: its 50 years of existence. For this occasion, Jean-Luc Blondel, sub-prefect of the Muret district, was present to blow out the 50 candles of this institution which has marked generations of police officers. A look back at half a century of training and commitment to public safety.

A little history

Created on April 18, 1974, the Toulouse National Police Academy has become over the decades an essential institution for the training of police officers in . Initially dedicated to the training of command corps civil servants, the school has evolved to meet the new needs and requirements of the profession.

Under different names, it first provided initial and then continuing training for high-ranking police officers. Over time, the ENPT has diversified its missions to include training adapted to civil servants in the management and enforcement body. Today, this school not only trains future officers, but also peacekeepers, deputy police officers, and cadets of the Republic, thus preparing all public security actors for their respective functions.

A school at the heart of police developments

The ENPT has always been able to adapt to societal developments and contemporary security issues. Over the years, the courses offered have been enriched to integrate new teaching methods, as well as specific training linked to new forms of crime, maintaining order, and modern investigation techniques.
