Dakar, May 7 (APS) – The Delegation for Rapid Entrepreneurship for Women and Youth (DER/FJ) has invested 2.7 billion CFA francs in the supervision of 433 digital entrepreneurial initiatives, since its creation in 2017, announced Tuesday to the APS its director in charge of studies, planning and monitoring-evaluation, Codé Lo.

”An investment of 2.7 billion CFA francs has been made to support 433 initiatives in the digital sector since 2017. Five hundred start-ups have also benefited from support from the DER/FJ, and 300 of them have been financed,” said Mr. Lo on the sidelines of the opening of a two-day forum devoted to the ”challenges and opportunities” of digital technology associated with agriculture.

The organization of this meeting is an initiative of the DER/FJ and the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation.

Entrepreneurs, experts, partners and decision-makers from the agricultural and digital sectors of Senegal, Benin and Burkina Faso are taking part in this two-day meeting.

”Our objective is to create innovative synergies around the crucial issue of the use of digital technologies in the service of innovative, productive and sustainable agriculture,” explained the general delegate for rapid entrepreneurship of women and young people, Mame Aby Sèye.

The DER/FJ and the Luxembourg Agency for Development Cooperation want to ”support the actors of digital entrepreneurship, so that they contribute more to the creation of decent jobs in Senegal by promoting innovation”, said she added.
