On the sidelines of the International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia and Transphobia on May 17, the City of Geneva offers each year a campaign combining public displays and a program of events and meetings in order to raise awareness among the Geneva population. discrimination linked to sexual and emotional orientation and gender identity and expression.

The 2024 edition looks at the intersections between sustainability issues and LGBTIQ+ issues, focusing in particular on the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the texts of which do not specifically mention LGBTIQ+ people. As the ten posters of this campaign highlight, LGBTIQ+ people are particularly impacted
by climate change and growing social inequalities. For example, during natural disasters, emergency, accommodation or aid programs in the majority of cases do not take into account the specific needs of LGBTIQ+ people (family reunification, medical follow-up, etc.), or are not even available to them. simply not open, which makes them even more vulnerable to crises
environmental. The posters will be displayed in the streets of Geneva from May 13 to 26, alongside a rich event program.

Ten posters were designed to highlight the crucial place of LGBTIQ+ issues within sustainability policies. The City of Geneva endorses the joint declaration of States when adopting these 17 Sustainable Development Goals: “let no one be left behind. side (leave no one behind). As inequalities grow and hate speech against LGBTIQ+ people increases, the City of Geneva is committed to a truly inclusive society for all.

The poster campaign is inspired by numerous works by civil society and offers a focus on 10 of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by showing, using statistics and documented sources, how LGBTIQ+ issues are at the heart of the issues. sustainable development and therefore cannot be treated as a secondary issue. The graphic design was provided by Chatty Ecoffey which took up the codes of the 2030 Agenda.
