Contemporary artist of Dutch origin, Levi van Veluw invites you to come and discover his inner world during a free personal exhibition entitled “We do not remember”. This is not to be missed at the Les Filles du Calvaire gallery in Paris from Thursday May 2 to Saturday June 8, 2024.

Levi van Veluw, you know ? Contemporary and multidisciplinary artist, Levi van Veluw is at the origin of several works including photographs, videos, sculptures, installations and even drawings. Born in 1985, the Dutch artist has already received several awards including Photographer of the Year at the IPA International Photo Awards in the United States, as well as the public award De Volkskrant Beeldende Kunst prijs at the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.

This spring, the gallery The Daughters of Calvary offers him his first personal exhibition in Paris. To discover in the 3rd arrondissement of the capital of Thursday May 2 to Saturday June 8, 2024this artistic event immerses the visitor in the inner world of Levi van Veluwtranscribed through two monumental and unusual installations as well as intimate sculptures.

With this free exhibition, entitled “We don’t remember“, Levi van Veluw intends to surprise passers-by by transforming the gallery window into a work of art, made from 120 replicas of its own effigy.

Once in the Les Filles du Calvaire gallery, accessible via a small interior courtyard located on the left, Levi van Veluw imagined a second monumental installation, this time taking the form of a cylindrical object 6 meters high and crossing the two floors of the gallery. On the walls of this room, shelves reveal hundreds of heads, from top to bottom, with a tenfold effect thanks to mirrors placed on the floor and ceiling.

In addition to these two unusual installations, Levi van Veluw also exhibits sculptures and drawings, and unveils an autobiographical film directly inspired by his childhood memories. Through his various works, which question our human logic, Levi Van Veluw challenges and invites us to question ourselves in particular about the obsession with control and the search for infinity.
