Hit by a car in Lessay (Manche) while returning from school on a scooter on Monday May 6, a 13-year-old girl died at the Caen University Hospital. A psychological unit was set up in the establishment where she attended school.
The tragedy shakes up the entire canton of Lessay. Tuesday, May 7, in the afternoon, the authorities announced the death of a 13-year-old girl, seriously injured the day before in a traffic accident.
Monday May 6, while she was returning from school on a scooter, as usual, the teenager was hit by a car near the Pont de la Goutte washhouse, on the D652, which connects Créances to Lessay, commune of residence of the girl’s family. The accident occurred shortly after 5 p.m., and the end of classes.
Seriously injured in the impact, the schoolgirl was first taken care of by the SDIS 50 firefighters, before being airlifted and medically treated to the Caen University Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during the night.
At the Georges Desdevises college in Dézert, to deal with the trauma caused by the news of the tragedy, a psychological unit was set up.
The establishment’s parents’ association has, for its part, created an online prize pool. Opened “at the request of several parents from Lessay college. Its aim is to support the family in the terrible ordeal they are going through.“.
