Mathematicians love numbers, all numbers. But some of them have their favorites. Like Francis Brown, professor of mathematics at the University of Oxford, visiting the mathematics section of the University of Geneva this year. He gives a conference Tuesday evening for the general public as part of the annual “Maths à PartaG” series. His hobby: zeta numbers. He devoted part of his research to trying to better understand these mysterious numbers.
