For several days, it has been advised against drinking tap water in several villages in Puy-de-Dôme. The reason : severe weather of May 1 and 2, 2024, which made the water cloudy at the La Coussidière catchment, in Manzat.

Other municipalities are also affected: Loubeyrat, in the hamlets Les Portiers and Bargeneuve, as well as Charbonnières-les-Vieilles, in the hamlets Chanteloup and Les Forges.

Distribution of water packs

Since Friday May 3, the Sioule and Morge union has distributed packs of water to schools and the Manzat nursing home. In Charbonnières-les-Vieilles, the town hall also carried out distribution of water packs to the inhabitants.

When will we be able to drink tap water again? “This Monday morning, the turbidity levels were almost normal, and with the good weather who comes, we should return to usual rates in the coming days,” indicates Stéphane Houssier, technical director of the Sioule et Morge union, interviewed by France 3.
