Moselle. Do you know what the average salary is in the metropolis of Metz?

The average salary per head, excluding temporary work but all sectors of activity combined, was €2,725/month for the last quarter of 2023, for employees who work in the municipalities of the metropolis. This is one of the lessons that emerges from the data published jointly by Urssaf and the urban planning agency of Moselle (on the Aguram website).

What methodology?

The average salary per head (SMPT) is calculated by relating the payroll for the quarter to the average workforce observed over the quarter. It is divided by three to obtain a monthly value. The SMPT is an indicator of wages paid by companies (gross, therefore). It includes bonuses and allowances, excluding exceptional purchasing power bonuses and partial unemployment allowances.

The average salary is always higher than the median income because it amplifies the importance of the highest salaries.
