Since March 2024, a new thriving branch of Blossom has opened in Shops Angus. Nestled in the immediate vicinity of the second Red Tiger brand, this new counter embodies a reinterpretation of the first restaurant established on Boulevard Maisonneuve and their counter in Time-Out.

At the origin of this project, Dan Pham, Sakharau Sam-Ell and Kevin Chiem, already associated with several successes such as the two branches of Red Tiger, Terrasse Carla, Chomchom, among others. The team chose Angus Shops, a place that is thriving gastronomically, but relatively devoid of Asian cuisine. Their ambition was to transpose the popular concept of Blossom, already renowned for its delicious handrolls, its impressive selection of sake and above all, its emblematic cherry tree enthroned in the heart of the room. “We wanted to preserve our already winning offering from the other two Blossoms, but adapt it to a concept more focused on the take-out counter in this new neighborhood,” explains Dan, the owner.

On the design side, the team collaborated once again with the talented designer Guillaume Ménard of Ménard Dworkind Architecture (Tiramisu, Red Tiger, Ryu, Casavant) to create a futuristic and refined atmosphere. The long room is mainly adorned with purple tiles illuminated by neon lights on the ceiling. The sushi bar harmoniously divides the space. With its 30 seats, you have the option of enjoying your meal on site or opting for a take-out order.

In the kitchen, chef Sarina Yoth (Kyo, Jatoba) offers a menu composed of classic and refined Japanese dishes. On the program, a generous selection of poké bowls, dishes to share such as vegetarian or chicken gyozas, salmon or tuna sashimi, and many other delights. For this new address, the team wanted to offer something unique and exquisite: stylish sushi oshi (torched) and aburi (press). This type of sushi involves heating the top of the fish to achieve a distinct charred taste and pressing several ingredients such as rice, a fish or vegetable base, and other ingredients. Of the four options offered, the spicy salmon – thick slices of seared salmon, rice seasoned with Japanese spices, tempura shrimp, unagi sauce and spicy mayonnaise – stands out as a must-try. With prices ranging between $6 and $24, Blossom offers a very affordable range given the quality of the dishes.

As for drinks, the menu offers a variety of imported sakes, Japanese beers, cold matcha drinks, as well as a selection of sodas and juices to enjoy on site or to take away to accompany your meal.

Le Blossom positions itself as the ideal address to satisfy your desire for tasty sushi, combining quality ingredients with an elegant aesthetic.
