Expotrans goes bankrupt, drivers of disabled children in the Channel are left behind

They learned the news by email. “The company is experiencing significant financial difficulties. reads Jacky Capdepon on his phone. This resident of Flamanville, in Manche, is a former employee of Expotrans, a school transport company for disabled children, mandated by the Manche department. She requests its liquidation. Just like in Mayenne, managers no longer paid their employees since March.

It is for this reason that Jacky Capdepon resigned to work in another company. But the non-payment of this money put him in a delicate situation: “As long as I haven’t touched it, I won’t be able to get back on track properly. I will always be in the red. I have less than 400 euros in my bank account, I can’t pay my monthly payments, it ‘is impossible.”

No medical visit, no contact person

Many rules were not respected at Expotrans according to several employees. No medical examination, no contact persons, the drivers were left to their own devices. We don’t even know what our coordinator looks like. We don’t even officially know who the manager of the company is. No one answers us”, says Kim Lerable, 24 years old. This young mother who is expecting a second child does not know where to turn to recover the unpaid money. She is seeking to join other aggrieved employees to come together and sue the company.

The Expotrans company was mandated by the Manche department. He promises to find other carriers for children without a solution by May 13. There are already ten children taken care of by another transport company: Titi Floris. There are eight left without transportation to school at the moment.
