Radio Chablais – More renewable energies in Switzerland? The population will decide in June.

Swiss voters will have to vote on June 9 on the new federal law for electricity.

The text aims to rapidly increase the production of renewable energies throughout the country. In total, 18 hydraulic, solar and wind projects of national importance would be implemented by 2040.

The construction of these infrastructures will aim to ensure long-term security of supply and to decarbonize electricity consumption. Explanations from Pascal Dubosson, head of the Valais campaign for YES.

With the exception of the Franz Weber Foundation and the SVP, the majority of environmental associations and political parties are in favor of changing the law and are calling for a YES vote.
