The company Wago Contact SA celebrated on Monday the ceremony of laying the first stone for the extension of its production site in Domdidier.

The first stone of the extension of Wago Contact SA was laid on Monday in Domdidier. A ceremony marking the start of the infrastructure project which will have a total surface area of 13,500 m2, or doubled. The event brought together the general director of the German group Wago, of which the company in Domdidier is a subsidiary, but also the State Councilor Olivier Curty, in charge of the Department of Economy, Employment and professional training.
Specializing in connection and automation technologies as well as interface electronics, Wago Contact SA employs around 500 people. It is investing 30 million francs here to build a plastic injection factory whose operation should start at the beginning of 2026. The building will include an injection hall, a service corridor made up of three levels and a footbridge above the road of Industry, making it possible to connect the two parts of the site.
“If the Wago group has chosen to expand to Domdidier, it is in particular because of the stability of the political situation and the high number of specialists available,” underlined general manager Frédéric Riva. The number of jobs thus created is estimated at more than a hundred.
