Charente-Maritime is launching an experiment with Active Solidarity Income (RSA) with special conditions, notably the obligation of 15 hours of activity per week. This initiative is part of national measures aimed at promoting employment and reducing unemployment.

According to Sud-Ouest, Charente-Maritime is one of the 47 departments selected by the State to conditionally test the RSA. The objective is clear: to move closer to full employment by encouraging RSA beneficiaries to engage in regular activities. This experiment foreshadows a generalization of the system from 2025.

Implementation in the Pays Royannais

During the spring session of the Departmental Council, it was announced that the principle of 15 hours of weekly activity will be applied in the Pays Royannais. This region will thus be a pioneer in the implementation of this measure before its deployment on a national scale.

Strengthening the local offer and intensive support

Dominique Rabelle, vice-president in charge of integration, underlines the importance of strengthening the local offer in terms of solutions allowing RSA beneficiaries to fulfill the required hours of activity. In addition, intensive support will be offered to new entrants to the RSA to promote their professional integration.

State financial commitment

The State is committed to financially supporting the Departmental Council in setting up and managing this RSA experiment with compulsory activity hours. This financial partnership demonstrates the common desire of the State and local authorities to fight against unemployment and promote employment.
