Threats, assaults, coercion, property damage, false alarms and much more. A 39-year-old Zurich woman was recently tried for a plethora of crimes committed between March and August 2023. In at least twenty cases, she ordered pizzas, sex toys, books and other items in the name of her elderly neighbor . She also stuck ketchup-stained sanitary napkins on the front door of her building and smeared the elevator with mayonnaise. Once, she even threatened a man to kill his wife and his dog.

In four days, she also called the emergency services at 117 172 times for false alarms, including one to report a huge fire in front of her home. Emergency services then arrived in large numbers: 27 firefighters, two ambulances and four police officers. But it was not. When they arrived, the woman swore at the authorities.

Crimes that the woman confessed to during the trial in mid-April. “I can’t cope with my life,” she told the court. She realizes that she needs psychiatric help. An observation shared by his lawyer, the prosecutor and the judge. Indeed, the woman suffers from a slight intellectual disability and a very unstable personality disorder, the risk of relapse is high. She has already occupied many institutions, but has always been expelled due to her behavior. The judge finally ruled: she was sentenced to sixteen months in prison, deferred in favor of a hospital therapeutic measure.
