A strike has been underway since Friday, May 3, organized by the USIP (Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit) service at the Nîmes University Hospital. The mobilization is carried out by the Unsa CHU Nîmes union, until Monday, May 6, midnight.
The union is demanding a risk premium of 118 euros gross per month. “These staff are in daily contact with difficult and sometimes dangerous patients. They suffer insults and threats. They even get beaten! », Says Armand Pijulet, UNSA health secretary general in Gard. And to continue: “You should know that among the patients, some have a prison history and are under treatment constraints, the working conditions are extremely difficult.”
Armand Pijulet has also been contacted by other USIPs in France who would like to join the movement. A situation which concerns the Secretary General all the more as “this bonus is already given to other USIPs in France”, he notes. A meeting is planned with the general management of the Nîmes University Hospital at the end of the strike. “If the negotiations do not succeed, the movement will be relaunched,” warns Armand Pijulet.
