A committed festival
As there are committed singers, the Lyon event aims to be an engaged festival. His slogan: “Resist and unite”. “The party is still possible despite the disorders in the world” explain the organizers, praising a party that is “conscious and sensitive, which resists polarization of all kinds, which celebrates the commons and restores shine to the universal. »
A festival that celebrates, but also opens the way to reflection. The new Grandes Locos site will therefore host the “Lab” part of the festival. A laboratory of ideas and commitments, with workshops, meetings and debates around major themes: the social role of artists, the climate emergency, the future of independent scenes or the role of technology in music …
A voice will be given to the scheduled artists, discussing the issues they face on a daily basis.
Finally, the Lyon festival aims to be “safe”, secure. Prevention space, team of mediators, sharing of routes, awareness of the culture of consent, presence of first aiders and emergency doctors…

A first for Grandes Locos
The 21e edition of the Lyon electro festival takes place this week, from Tuesday 7 to Sunday 12. This will be the first event to take over the new Grandes Locos site at Mulatière, in particular for a daytime program, from 4 p.m., which the organizers wish to favor, to “dance under the sun”. In the evening, festival-goers will be able to choose between the H7, the Sucre or the Sucrière on the Confluence side, or the Transbordeur in Villeurbanne. With a diverse program, from techno to hip-hop, and an atmosphere that aims to be “conscious and sensitive, which resists polarization of all kinds”.

If the day of the festival will be spent on the Mulatière side, we will cross the Rhône at sunset. La Sucrière, le Sucre and H7 will be the refuge for night owls. On the Sucrière side, we will find the curation formulas, with evenings programmed by artists, but also an “all night long” entrusted to the duo Mind Against.
And on the Sucre side, programming is scheduled between midnight and 6 a.m., including Zoë McPherson, Kay the Prodigy and even former footballer Djibril Cissé. After his career, the 42-year-old ex-footballer became a Disc Jockey. This time, he won’t set the pitches on fire but the dance floor.

The transbo in the loop
Even if it has a strong rock image, the Villeurbanne club is a mecca for electro and Lyon evenings. For a week, it hosts part of the Nuits Sonores programming. Starting with the traditional “special concert” which welcomes the Mancunian duo Autechre this Tuesday 7. The group is ininfluenced by electro and hip-hop styles.
Live performances from Adult DVD, Anomalie Magnétique, Cate Hortl, MRD and Rebeka Warrior will follow.
Be careful though! The reading concert with Virginie Despentes, Béatrice Dalle and the group Zëro, scheduled for Friday May 10, is canceled.
