the 6th Réussite+ exceeded all expectations at the Crèvecœur-le-Grand college

The 6th Réussite+ had its second start on Monday September 2 at Jéhan-le-Fréron college. Both the students and the teaching team are delighted with its first assessment.

Provide students with the weapons and skills to face 5th grade. This by supporting them at their own pace, in a small class, with two teachers per lesson.

This is the objective of the 6th Réussite+ (R+) class set up last year at Jéhan-le-Fréron college. A class which also welcomes some students from EREA Joséphine Baker.

It means bringing the experience of a specialized school teacher and that of a teacher who specializes in his or her subject, to help volunteer students who have some difficulties and help them progress at their own pace on the skills expected at the end of 6th grade. . Autonomy is the key word of this class. Students must be able to cope with the instructions on their own when they arrive in 5th grade..”

summarize the heads of the college and EREA

If both students and teachers suffered the blows last year, they still have a very positive assessment of this first year.

Trust and solidarity between Réussite+ sixth form students

For us it was important to have a teacher available and attentive when we didn’t understand. It also gave us confidence because we were a little scared when we arrived at college. We highly recommend this class.”

They even point out that among the seniors in the class, they help each other when they have problems in class today. “We are also vigilant with these Réussite+ alumnispecifies Ms. Becq, co-principal teacher of the 6th Réussite+. When they disperse we will see them right away. There is a sort of collusion with them. It’s interesting to follow their journey.”

And among the great successes, a former R+, registered at EREA, was able to continue in ordinary 5th grade at college thanks to his results.

He plays a bit of the role of big brother with the new R+ from EREA. And we are closely monitoring its results. As with other students, there is real personalized support. In any case, this class exceeded our expectations.”

underlines Mr. Piegle, director of EREA

The latter now wishes to open the doors of his establishment to interested middle school students and teachers on Wednesdays.

A stay to make connections

Monday, September 2, the second class of R+ returned to college. The class welcomes twenty-two students, including four from EREA. And their year got off to a good start as they went on an integration trip to the Val de Selle workshops in Conty.

Last year, middle school and EREA students were split. They didn’t mix. To create osmosis we organized this stay, free for families.”

explains Mr. Dubus, principal of the college

Again a great success. “We went horse riding, hiking, went to discover biodiversity, ate together… And it worked well, there is a great understanding in the group“, assures Ms. Caliaro, English teacher.

The 6th Réussite+ therefore achieved its objectives during its first year, and seems well on its way to allowing its twenty-two new students to integrate and train in the best conditions.

Note that since the start of the September school year, in 6th and 5th grade classes, for French and mathematics lessons, students must be grouped according to their level, “according to the needs of the students identified by the teachers“. But the 6th Réussite+ class is not affected by this reform, since its students already benefit from personalized support.
