A “new and temporary tax” for the largest French companies

“There will be no fiscal shock. In the effort that we are going to make to reduce the debt, there will be a two-thirds reduction in public spending” and “a third of new, targeted, exceptional, temporary taxation on the largest French companies which make a billion dollars. ‘euros of turnover or more’. This represents “300 companies”, for the Prime Minister. The duration of this measure will be “fixed in the law”, it will amount to “one year or perhaps two years”.

The “richest taxpayers” will also be involved. For example, “a couple with a tax income of €500,000” will be one of the households concerned. “I don’t want to disrupt growth,” assures Michel Barnier.
