SM Sport on Boulevard Valcartier in Quebec, a company specializing in the sale, financing, maintenance and repair of recreational vehicles of all types, is celebrating its 50 years of expertise in recreational vehicles. It was in 1974 that the Harvey brothers laid the first stones of what would become an institution in the region. They passed the torch in 2002 to five pillars of the company, including the late Simon Dionne, Robert Bégin, Michel Paradis, Yves Matteau et Jean Labrecque. In 2008, as the company continued to grow, Dave Marcotte makes his entrance, followed by Luc Dupont in 2018, bringing with them a fresh vision and renewed determination. With more than 14 manufacturers and around fifty employees in 2024, the SM Sport team continues to grow. Over the past five years, the company has more than doubled its turnover and has a product inventory of more than $7.5 million. For its 50th anniversary, SM Sport is announcing a major renovation and modernization project for its facilities in several phases (mechanical workshop, service and parts department, showroom) for the well-being of its employees.

Rosewood wedding

Congratulations to Real Cameron et Jacqueline Béland (photo), originally from Saint-Anselme and Saint-Henri de Lévis respectively, who are today celebrating their 65the wedding anniversary. Before getting married, they dated for a few years during which Réal worked several months a year in logging camps in order to raise the money needed to buy a small piece of land. On October 3, 1959, Réal and Jacqueline were married at the church of Saint-Henri de Lévis and subsequently settled in Sainte- (Lotbinière) on their small farm. The couple worked tirelessly to develop a home where their five children could grow up: Michel, Jocelyne, Martin, Céline and Chantal. When their eldest son, Michel, took over the reins of the family business (Ferme Descam), Réal and Jacqueline kept themselves busy by traveling, gardening, carpentry, maple sugaring and donating an occasional helping hand on the dairy farm. They also savored their roles as grandparents, then great-grandparents, by profusely spoiling their six grandchildren: Karl, Steve, Audrey, Francis, Juliette and Jacob, as well as their four great-grandchildren. children: Logan, Kate, Lindsay and James. Even today, installed in their house 2 km from the farm, the hearts of Réal and Jacqueline beat in harmony.
