Lyon. Free TCL for three months with this tip: we tested it and it works

A free TCL subscription for three months? This is the new offer launched in April 2024 by the Métropole de Lyon to encourage residents to take public transport or Vélo’v rather than private cars.

HAS news Lyontwo journalists tried their luck to obtain this precious sesame… and it worked. We explain to you how we took advantage of this advantage.

An offer only for those without a subscription for a long time

It is important to point out that regular TCL customers are not entitled to this offer. It only concerns residents of the metropolis, aged 18 or more, who have not been subscribed to the various services for three years or more (or those who have never been). Which was our case.

If this is the only criterion to be met, the Metropolis insists that this offer is aimed in particular to motorists “owners of Crit’Air 5, 4 or unclassified vehicles, as well as new arrivals”.

An easy process to do

To take advantage of it, we went to the Découverte Mobilités offer website which redirected us to Toodego.com to complete the process. After easily logging in, we were given an activation code, then we identified ourselves and gave our address.

We then answered a series of six questions about our job, our daily mode of travel, the service we wish to use, how we will use it and how we were informed of this offer.

Our TCL card sent at the end of April, the offer is activated from June 1

We chose the offer: 3 months of free TCL subscription + 2 free journeys/day of carpooling via the En Covoit’ service. Finally, we sent proof of address and validated our request.

We made the request on April 8. It was confirmed two days later, on April 10. We received a certificate of allocation of the Découverte Mobilités offer, then our dear TCL card was sent at the end of April.

Our Mobility Discovery offer will be active from June 1, 2024, for a period of three months. It was worth the ten minutes.
