The Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch chaired this Wednesday, October 2, the first meeting of the Interministerial Commission responsible for the rehabilitation program for areas affected by floods in the south-east of the Kingdom. During this meeting, it was decided to grant financial aid of 80,000 dirhams and 140,000 dirhams for the rehabilitation of 1,121 partially or completely collapsed homes. Here are the details.

As part of the government’s implementation of the rehabilitation program for areas affected by floods in the south-east of the Kingdom, having been the subject of High Royal Instructions, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, this Wednesday, October 2 in Rabat, the first meeting of the Interministerial Commission responsible for the rehabilitation program for areas affected by floods in the southeast of the Kingdom.

This meeting was devoted to examining the major axes of this program, the projects it provides for, the mechanisms and means to implement them quickly and efficiently, as well as the programming of the necessary credits, agreed at 2 .5 billion dirhams, a sum which will be deposited with the Fund to Combat the Effects of Natural Disasters.

“In application of the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, may God help him, and in the area of ​​rehabilitation of damaged homes, the government will grant direct financial aid for the rehabilitation of 1,121 homes, of which 269 homes were destroyed totally and 852 partially. The amount of this aid will be 80,000 dirhams to finance rehabilitation work on partially collapsed homes and 140,000 dirhams for completely collapsed homes,” we read in a press release.

The rehabilitation program for areas affected by floods in the south-east of the Kingdom also includes components relating to the rehabilitation of road infrastructure, telecommunications networks, electricity and drinking water distribution, and networks sanitation.

The program also provides support for agricultural activities, in particular through the repair of small and medium-sized hydraulic structures and support for breeders in order to enable the reconstitution of livestock in the affected regions, as well as the reconstruction and rehabilitation of public buildings. disaster victims.
