In application of royal instructions, the duration of emergency aid payments amounting to 2,500 dirhams to families whose homes were partially or totally collapsed by the Al-Haouz earthquake will be extended by five months to allow families to complete the rehabilitation of housing, said Wednesday in Rabat, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch.

In a statement to the press following the 12th meeting of the Interministerial Commission in charge of the reconstruction and general rehabilitation program of the areas affected by the Al-Haouz earthquake, Akhannouch stressed that the extension comes after the completion of the operation of emergency aid payments which had been set at a duration of 12 months, noting that the objective is to allow families to complete the rehabilitation of their homes in the best conditions.

In this regard, the head of government called on families who benefited from aid dedicated to homes damaged following the Al-Haouz earthquake to accelerate the pace of construction work, noting that the implementation of the reconstruction program and rehabilitation of areas affected by the Al-Haouz earthquake is following a positive pace.
