The firefighters were called on Tuesday October 1 for a terrible feu d’habitation in the village of Bonvillersabout ten kilometers south of Breteuil (Oise).
The fire, which broke out rue du Bois a little after 10 p.m., caused one death. According to our information, two people were in this accommodation when the fire broke out. A septuagenarian who lived with her disabled son died in this tragedy.
“Everything is gone. There’s nothing left of the house. It is an extremely strong trauma in the village, especially since many residents knew the victims,” recalls Mayor Vincent Loisel, present at the scene of the tragedy last night.
The elected official also explains that a “surge of solidarity” has emerged in the town, with the opening of an online fundraiser.
Upon their arrival on the scene, the firefighters immediately deployed major resources: “Two fire vans, a ladder, an ambulance and a drone team, commanded by a group leader were engaged,” explains the Fire Department and rescue service in Oise.
“Accidental origin” favored by investigators
The firefighters managed to contain the flames using three water lancesincluding one placed at the end of a ladder.
Despite the presence of a medical teamthe victim was already in cardiac arrest when help arrived and had inhaled a lot of smoke. Unfortunately, she could not be resuscitated.
The public prosecutor of Beauvais, Frédéric Trinh, confirms Oise News “the opening of legal proceedings entrusted to the Breteuil gendarmerie favoring the accidental origin of the fire”.
This Wednesday, October 2, assessments continued in the charred rubble to try to determine the origin of the fire. A security perimeter was established by municipal decree around the garden of the house to prohibit access.
