This Friday, Teima Sohaib was tried in Grenoble.

The main suspect in the death of Auriane, a Lyonnaise stabbed in an abandoned church in Italy, was prosecuted for violence committed and threats against her in France.

The facts are important, Auriane had bruises and had a broken nose. The 22-year-old young woman from Saint-Priest had filed two complaints in 2023 and 2024 against her companion, an Italian student based in Grenoble.

Teima Sohaib denied the facts before the Isère courts. He placed the blame on Auriane whom he judges “manipulative”, “agressive” And “dangerous”. He even accused him of “hurt herself”.

The alleged murderer had already told investigators that he had agreed to go with her to Italy despite his judicial control, because Auriane had promised him that she had withdrawn her complaints.

If 10 months in prison were required, Teima Sohaib finally received 6 months accompanied by a ban on entry into French territory for 10 years.

His lawyer, Me Samir Bellasri, however, indicated his intention to appeal. He had requested acquittal, regretting that the court would brush aside certain documents brought into the file such as messages exchanged by the couple in English but which could not be translated in time.

In the event of an appeal, the Italian would be kept in detention in France rather than being extradited as planned.

This would delay the second stage of the legal process, eagerly awaited on both sides of the Alps, namely the investigation and potentially the trial for the death of Auriane in Val d’Aosta.
