Château-Chervix. The Château-Chervix library celebrates its 20th anniversary. Saturday April 27, the Château-Chervix library celebrated its 20 e birthday.

The event was marked by the enthusiastic presence of more than fifty people, including Jacqueline Lhomme Léoment, departmental councilor, Guy Montet, mayor of Meuzac, representatives of the Père Castor media library in Meuzac, the former director of the departmental library, Marie-Christine Plaignaud, as well as local library managers, without forgetting the volunteers.

In a moving inaugural speech, Jean-Luc Lachaud, the mayor, retraced the steps that led to the creation of this essential cultural space and paid tribute to the mayor of this year 2004, Michel Nardot, for his unwavering support during the realization of this ambitious project.

Subsequently, Isabelle Denisot-Stierlin, at the origin of the creation, shared additional information on the journey of the creation. She also wanted to honor the memory of the deceased volunteers and to thank all those who have since contributed to the success and operation of the library. Finally, some readings focused on the book, the library and the librarian closed this presentation.

The event also allowed visitors to discover a very interesting exhibition of artists’ books as well as remarkable works by Johannes Vandenhoeck, including particularly original engravings.

The Château-Chervix library remains a central pillar of the cultural life of the commune, which will continue to inspire and enrich future generations through its commitment to reading, knowledge and creativity.
