Last November, a man was attacked with a manhole cover last November because he refused to shake hands with his interlocutor.

Nine months later, last July, the victim decided to take revenge by stabbing his tormentor twice.

In Seine-Maritime, an absurd confusion has gone much too far. Last November, a man attacked another with a
manhole coverbecause the latter refused to shake his hand. Nine months later, the victim took revenge by attacking with couteau his attacker.

According to Actu.fron July 18, 2024, in the Grand-Mare district of , the police arrested the two men. On site, the 19-year-old young man had just received two stab wounds, to the buttock and thigh. He then declared that it was a vengeance from this “awareness“.

The two men sentenced

Unknown to the courts and the police, the two defendants, both victims and perpetratorsadmitted the facts. One of them claims to have received a manhole cover on the head nine months previously. This incident followed an altercation.after shaking hands with a glove and insults“. The student was then injured in the head and had a broken hand. He was incapacitated for sixty days.

The public prosecutor judged the behavior of the defendants “distressing and lamentable“. The Rouen court declared the two men guilty of violence on September 20. They were both
condemned. One receives a one-year prison sentence with probationary suspension and the other, an 8-month prison sentence with probationary suspension for a period of two years. The two accused victims are prohibited from coming into contact with each other, from possessing or carrying a weapon for two years.
