The Monplaisir tables @ Lyon 8th

The Tablées de Monplaisir, organized by the Monplair Festival Committee, are celebrating their 5th edition on May 13 and 14 on Place Ambroise Courtois in Lyon. This festive and culinary event has grown over the years, attracting more than 10,000 visitors the previous year! With around fifteen food trucks and stands, the event offers a variety of culinary specialties from around the world, ranging from Indonesian street food to French, Syrian, Lebanese, American, Indian, Italian and Japanese dishes. Participants can sit at the large tables with no obligation to purchase, even bringing their own picnic. Saturday is hosted by the Mégaphone group covering hits from Téléphone, while Sunday offers a creators’ market with around forty local artisans and workshops for children under the kiosk!

Japan Touch Haru and Geek Touch @ Eurexpo Lyon

Japan Touch Haru & Geek Touch, the Lyon festival dedicated to Japanese and geek culture, returns for its 9th edition on May 4 and 5 at Lyon Eurexpo. The event offers a multitude of activities with more than 400 exhibitors and around a hundred events. On the program, there are cosplay competitions, musical performances, various fights (lightsaber, vikings, crossbow shooting), a board games area, a Game Center with retrogaming and E-sport, a Book Corner with comic book talents, a center dedicated to new technologies, immersive sets for films and series, and the presence of renowned influencers and cosplayers. New for 2024: the opening of the MAID café in the TocToc space, offering an intimate Japanese experience to visitors.

Spring Festival @ Les Petites Cantines

La Petite Cantine du Vieux-Lyon is celebrating its first anniversary with a big party open to all, this Saturday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. The event includes a carousel, a buffet, a concert, a participatory kitchen, a raffle, a garage sale and a carousel to entertain adults and children. Les Petites Cantines, a non-profit association, aims to create links and meetings around cooking to combat isolation, with meals at free prices to promote inclusion. Smackdown and Backlash @ LDLC Arena

WWE is organizing the Premium Live Event (PLE) and Smackdown for the first time in France, on May 3 and 4, 2024 at the LDLC Arena in Lyon-Décines. These monthly and weekly events feature American wrestling superstars, with world titles on the line. The LDLC Arena, with a capacity of 16,000 spectators, will host renowned male and female wrestlers such as Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Rhea Ripley, Bayley, Bianca Belair, LA Knight and AJ Styles.
