In an interview with AFP, the president and CEO of the Euroleague, Paulius Motiejunas, affirmed that the French market had good potential in terms of TV rights.

The Euroleague sees “great potential” of development in the French market, which next season should have three representatives (Monaco, Asvel and ) in the queen of European basketball competitions, its CEO, the Lithuanian Paulius Motiejunas, told AFP on Thursday.

“We believe that the French market has great potential, which we will try to develop. But it’s not just us or the clubs that have to think it, the broadcasters have to be convinced of it too,” he continued.

Asked about the possible participation of Paris Basketball for the next edition of Euroleague, Paulius Motiejunas wants to see the capital club among the clubs involved: “I like the prudent approach of the leaders, which consists of first analyzing the situation, the budget they would need, what it would bring them. But I told them that they couldn’t not be in the Euroleague next season. It’s a historic opportunity, I can’t see them not seizing it.”
