The 47-year-old drug addict, known to the police, had been identified on video surveillance images. He was sentenced to 11 months in prison this Thursday, May 2.

The theft took place in front of the palace gates.

The two thieves were traveling on bicycles, and obviously, they did not fear justice since the theft was committed at the door of the Amiens court. On April 27, a video surveillance camera filmed the scene. The criminals broke the window of a car parked just in front of the palace, and fled with a bag. A first suspect will be arrested quickly, and the second two days later.

Nicolas Perrault was recognized by the police on the video, and also identified by his accomplice. In the court box this Thursday, May 2, he maintains that it is not him. A bank card resulting from a homejacking was found on him, as well as a car key. The man, homeless, is a heroin addict. His record shows 31 convictions. He received a total of 11 months in prison.
