He still says he is a victim of squatters who, month after month, damaged his house in Saint-Jean du Var where he can no longer live. (see our April 20 edition).

This house, purchased for 160,000 euros, was rented then squatted, damaged and burned. Everyone was then moved by this Toulon resident, reduced to listing the increasing damage to his home (which is no longer worth much today). But that was without counting on another version of the facts, revealed on M6 in the show Scams, and in which the occupants claimed to have been paid by the owner 500 euros each to set the fire and allow him to be compensated by his insurance. The squatters claim not to have accepted this “deal”.

“Liars and jealous people!”

The fact remains that Cyril Coste pitched a tent in front of his insurance office in the city center last year. A complete loss since the insurer still refuses to compensate him. So who’s telling the truth? Only justice could decide.

The owner reacted: “I’m accused of insurance fraud and of intentionally setting the house on fire. Given the accusations, I have all the evidence to send away the liars and jealous people who want to smear me!”

In the meantime, another case took place in the judicial district of Digne. It appears that four tenants of a house in Volonne, considering themselves victims of death threats from the same owner, were interviewed. The judicial court sentenced the Toulon resident to four months in prison, subject to change, and a fine of 1,300 euros per tenant. The tenants now plan to ask him for emergency work and a reduction in rent.

1,850 euros collected by kitty

On the Internet, a Leetchi prize pool had been opened for “help Cyril Coste because of his squatted house in Toulon.” Intrigued, the site blocked the prize pool pending verification. But, to date, it has nevertheless collected 1,850 euros from 61 contributors. And participants can still contribute money…

Messages appeared: “Courage Mr. Coste. May God help you”, or “Hoping that these gestures of solidarity, certainly too modest, will bring you help. Don’t lose hope. Courage!”
