A family assistant was indicted for rape of a minor with acts of torture and barbarity, according to a press conference by the Nantes prosecutor, this Monday, September 30.
A family assistant from Loire-Atlantique child welfare was indicted for rape of a minor with acts of torture and barbarity. The 32-year-old man was arrested last September after a vacation abroad.
He has been in pre-trial detention since his arrest, according to information from France Bleu Loire Océan. The victim is a four-year-old girl, severely disabled, and placed with this man since December 2023, on the outskirts of Nantes.
The Department of Loire-Atlantique “expresses its dismay”
Videos spotted by Interpol brought to light the facts, which were partly admitted by the suspect. The man, who is also the father of a four-year-old child, in shared custody, admits to pedophile tendencies “for a while”.
The Nantes public prosecutor, Renaud Gaudeul, does not give details but he mentions “the exceptional violence exercised, having caused the victim acute pain and suffering in view of the content of the remarks made during the acts”.
The investigation continues to determine if there are other victims. The Department of Loire-Atlantique reacts and “expresses its dismay” in the face of “extremely serious facts”.
