The Bordeaux Boxers squad is being refined for next season in the Magnus League. Finnish striker Julius Valtonen, 28, who arrived last season, returns for a second year in Gironde. For his first season, after two years spent in Nice, he played 38 regular season matches and 17 in the play-offs for 7 goals and 23 assists in total.

He will work alongside young U20 international Kaylian Leborgne, 20, from Amiens and trained in Rouen. “He is a young man with great potential, who had a very good season with Amiens. He is a complete player, physical, powerful, in both directions of the ice, and we are very happy that he is joining the Boxers project,” appreciates the general manager of the Boxers, Stéphan Tartari.

A precocious player, he played with the Rouen U17s in 2017 when he was barely 14 years old. The following season he played 8 matches with the U20s and was called up to the French U16 team (6 matches, 1 goal and 3 assists).

It was in 2021-2022 that he discovered the Magnus League, and was called up to the French U20 team to compete in the D1B world championship. The following year, he was French champion with Rouen (43 regular season and play-off matches).

Last season, at 19, he joined Amiens. He played 41 regular season matches (20 points, 6 goals, 14 assists) and 4 play-offs, while the Amiens were eliminated in the quarter-finals by Grenoble, future victim of the Bordeaux Boxers in the semi-finals. .
