“For the moment, the stadium is not passable, on the one hand. It is still a little early, the areas are not yet all dense with grass and the municipal agents are still working regularly on it and we thank them for that. On the other hand, stones are brought up following the work, which makes future practice dangerous,” explains Victorien Hervieuone of the leaders of the Garennes-sur-Eure (Eure) football club, near Saint-André-de-l’Eure, who is especially worried about the dreaded arrival of travelers, who invade every year the stadium on sunny days.

We still hope to regain our pride of place for the start of the next season.

The question of the stadium was debated during the last municipal council. Nadine Paul And Gilbert Genesteopposition councilors, had specified that the stadium was “full of stones”, despite a bill for repairing the pitch amounting to €120,000.

Councilors were also concerned about the measures taken to protect the stadium in the event of Travelers arriving.

Daniel Douardfirst deputy mayor, stressed “that the company which carried out the work was a serious company, which had just redone the pitch of the Ezy-sur-Eure football club”, promising to follow the file.

Regarding security issues, he said “that protection in relation to Travelers had been studied in committee”. A system of concrete pads is put in place by municipalities with the same problem. “The quotes were validated by the committee and what is necessary will be done very quickly,” assured Daniel Douard.
