It is a national device which is making more and more converts.

“Ask Angela” arrives in Grenoble.

The environmentalist town hall announces that a press conference will take place next Monday to give the Kfée des Jeux, one of the pilot establishments, its badge which indicates its participation in the system.

Concretely, a person feeling threatened in a public space (being followed, threatened, assaulted, etc.) can pronounce the name of a fictitious employee: “I’m asking for Angela” to the staff of a business or a bar- restaurant, in order to be taken out of danger and taken care of. Participating brands are recognizable by a sticker bearing the code name; staff are trained to react in this type of sometimes extreme situation.

In order to respond to the issues of gender-based and sexual violence occurring in party establishments and in public spaces at night, a call for projects open to any public or associative structure was launched by the town hall on March 8, 2023 to collect information. proposals to address this issue.

Then the following June, the association Issue de Secours – Rialto – SOS Femmes 38, was mandated for three years to carry out these missions, in particular to mobilize as many businesses and establishments as possible to the “Ask Angela” system.

A first evaluation of the system will be carried out this fall by the City of Grenoble.
