The month of May launches the feria season in the south of France. Many festivities are planned in key towns, from Béziers to Bayonne via Dax, Mont-de-Marsan and Vic-Fezensac.
The weather is still capricious, but that doesn’t matter: May is here, and it’s the one that officially kicks off the feria season! Festivities during which Occitanie is very solidly represented. And it starts soon…
A busy month of May already
You won’t have to wait long before putting on your festival outfit! And be careful: depending on the location, it changes! In Condom, make way for redin Mont-de-Marsan, make way for blueand in Vic, it is obviously the sailor which is all the rage every year. This month of May will be lively in the féria section, with the first version of that of Béziers, on the 7th and 8th.
Will come next, after a passage to Alès, the big Gers parenthesis, with Condom (May 10-12) and Vic-Fezensac (May 17-20), at the same time as Nimes, in Gard (May 16-20). Note that the Gard prefecture has, like the Béziers territory, a second big meeting later in the summer, in September.
Be careful, the date changes in Bayonne!
Usually open to partygoers at the end of July, Bayonne has readjusted its calendar. To go to the Basque Country wearing your red scarf, the appointment was advanced to the 10th of the monthand will last until the 14th. And this to allow the police to be fully mobilized for the Olympic Games, which will start on Friday July 26 and end on August 11. No fair will be held during this period.
