The violent storms accompanied by hailstones and heavy rain which hit Ile-de-France on Wednesday evening will subside during the night, we learned from Météo-France, which has lifted the orange vigilance throughout the Ile-de-France region and in the Marne department.
“The storms are gradually fading. The strongest will now only affect Picardy for a few hours,” said the meteorological agency in its latest bulletin published Thursday at 12:11 a.m.
Only the departments of Somme, Aisne and Oise remain affected by the orange “thunderstorms” vigilance. Seine-Maritime, Eure, Eure-et-Loire, Orne and Calvados are placed on orange “rain-flood” vigilance.
Significant flooding is expected in the Touques basin, in Calvados, also on orange “flood” alert.
According to the Flightradar website, around ten planes which were due to land at Roissy airport were diverted. Flights to Orly were also redirected to other airports.
According to the dashboard of the Eurocontrol organization, the two Paris airports were closed to arrivals at 10:52 p.m. Images of flooding in terminal 2 of Roissy airport are also circulating on X.
It fell locally “between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. the equivalent of two weeks of rain in the month of May to the north and east of Paris”, according to the Météo Chaîne.
The rains will continue until the second part of the night, also affecting eastern Normandy.
